Calm Journal is a minimalistic journal that engages users with a guided question. The questions are designed to be introspective and allows one to reflect on their day.

Problem

I found myself finding it harder and harder to really just be in the moment. In trying to search for answers on how to resolve this, I realized that this was a problem becoming more and more prevalent in our day and age.
Guided and reflective journaling may be a key way for people to not just be in the moment, but also greatly help people’s mental health.

The Solution: 1 Day, 1 Question

My goal in making this app is to give people an outlet to express their thoughts and emotions, and to also be reflective on their day. A way to combine this goal while keeping in mind the business of our day to day lives is clear - 1 Day, 1 Question. Every day, every user will get the same exact guiding question designed to make you reflective on your day.

Why Calm Journal?

While there are 100 different note taking apps and journaling apps, Calm Journal is unique in that it has a singular mission - to help your mental health. As a result, the app is
  • Completely free: No subscriptions needed to keep journaling, no fees, nothing. This app will remain free forever and always, as the goal is not to make money, but to provide a meditative space.
  • Completely on your phone: We don’t save any of your notes in any server. Many people may be afraid to be reflective because they don’t want to risk revealing their emotions or thoughts to others. We understand and value our users privacy. Hence, every page of your diary is secured on your phone and only your phone.
  • Minimalist: No need for fancy bells and whistles to clutter up your mind when you open Calm Journal. The app is simple so there is nothing to think about except journaling for that day.
